Our selection of hotels in Thailand is below...
For 700 years, Thailand led an independent life from the rest of the world. Then, finally, in recent times it opened its doors to the global population, flaunting for the first time its devastating beauty and unique charm. And with such a rich tableau from which to choose, it’s difficult to know where to start.
Bangkok, perhaps, deserves to come first, the Orient’s capital and its most cosmopolitan city. It’s a colourful world of past and present with historic shrines and ancient temples sharing space with shopping plazas, skyscrapers, restaurants and bars. Head into the mountainous north and you’ll reach Chiang Mai, its personality outshining even the breathtaking landscapes. Trek through the beautiful mountains on foot or by elephant and then cool off as you ease down a river aboard a bamboo raft.
Head west from Bangkok for three hours and you’ll discover the tranquil delights of Hua Hin, the home of the Thai Royal Family. If it’s island living you prefer, both Koh Samui and Phuket offer seemingly endless beaches and crystal coastlines, whilst the neighbouring Phi Phi Islands are unparalleled for diving and snorkelling.
