St Lucia
St Lucia is a lush mountainous island with a hint of French influence. Delightful beaches, tropical scenery and rich plantations abound in a country that offers nothing less than a big smile and warm welcome. The capital, Castries is a bustling harbour with a beautiful hillside backdrop.
Travelling around the island can be a real adventure, although there is a price to pay for its underdeveloped charm! Signposts are almost few and far between on the windy mountain roads and don’t expect a smooth ride, however the magnificent vistas at almost every turn are worth the endurance test. Not be missed are the tall twin volcanic cones otherwise known as the Pitons, the drive-in volcano, the Diamond waterfalls and Sulphur Springs, the traditional Creole cuisine and some local market shopping.
