Located off the south-east coast of Miami and surrounded by one of the world’s longest reefs, the Turks & Caicos is a group of powdery white islands and deserted cays.
Tourism is at the heart of its main industry with travellers drawn to the romance of the destination and friendly spirit of the people. During the months of January through to April, you can enjoy a spot of whale watching, whilst trips to some of the small uninhabited cays are where you will find the indigenous Rock Iguana.
Providenciales, or, as most call it, “provo” is the most developed island and home to most of the water sports activities. The translucent waters make diving and snorkelling a must and if you’re lucky, you may get to meet Jo Jo, the resident dolphin. Much loved by the islanders, so much so they proclaimed him a national treasure, he is one of the few dolphins who voluntarily interacts with humans in his own natural habitat.
